Gunner - the new addition to the family

Meet our boy Gunner. He's new to our family. He's 4 years old and has been with us for about a month. We love him very much! He knows many non-verbal commands such as pointing down for "sit" and palm flat down for "lay". He also knows "roll over" and if you make a gun out of your pointer finger and thumb and say "bang, bang" (and you are a Male), he'll lay on his side and act dead. (This trick doesn't work as well for females - must be because he was trained by a male. Scot loves this!)
He is a show dog level, stud quality (and stud ability) European Lab (papered with a long history of show dogs in his line). Scot is interested in taking advantage of this and letting his "good boy" have a go at it with the female dogs - and make a bit of money while at it.

McKenzie's 1st Holy Communion, May 17, 2009

McKenzie celebrated her 1st Holy Communion on May 17, 2009. She looked so beautiful as Father Dave shared her first Eucharist with her. It was celebrated with Friends and Family present (Nigel & Mary Rose Ashcroft, Marty & Ingrid Robbins - with Erica and Paul, Boyd & Amie Thaxton - with Gentrie, Porter and Ryleigh present). Mom almost cried as Dad captured the moment with photo's. Before Mass had ended, all of the kids that had received their first communion sang a song, and used sign language to perform it. It was so adorable.
The brunch afterwards was celebrated at the Mahon residence and the friends and food were plentiful. Easter Eggs were even hidden for the kids to find. It was a magical day - a day to remember!
