Enjoying the Scottish Festival

We attended the Scottish Festival at Thanksgiving Point. They participated in the Highland Games, had Highland Dancers, Scottish food and many items for purchase. Our family tasted Haggis for the first time and discovered that it is an acquired taste (for which we have not acquired yet). Many individuals were dressed in kilts, therefore Scot is on the mission to purchase one for himself before next year. The bagpipes were amazing, and therefore I had to share a clip here so everyone could enjoy a bit of Scotland fun. We look forward to next years event, and hope that Mother Nature will shine sunshine upon us (rather than the rain gusts that we endured this past Saturday).

A Rainy Day at Moon Lake is Better than a Sunny Day in Salt Lake - - Any Time!!!

My yearly birthday trip to Moon Lake was not to be missed this year! It was to be shared with my family. Mom, Tina, Katelyn, Kelly, Amanda and McKenzie all came up to Moon Lake for the night to enjoy the splendor of the mountains, lake and beach. We all took time to say "hello" to the bridge after settling into the cabin. The lake was full and the area was beautiful. We roasted hot dogs around the campfire for dinner and followed them up with smores. Cards were played in the cabin and hot chocolate was shared. It was a very nice evening. We slept to the sound of rain playing a soft musical sound upon the roof.
Hello Bridge!

In the morning, everyone slept as long as they wished and took showers for the day. We took a stroll out to say "good morning" to the bridge, but did not walk for long much after. The clouds kept promising rain as we walked back to the cabin.

"Good Morning," Bridge.
The cabin was packed up for our return to Salt Lake, but we were certainly not ready to leave the area. Once the key was returned, a game of horse shoes was played (Patti won) and a game of basketball (where Tina beat everyone by a ton!). We even took time to go to the lake and make sand castles in the soft sand.

Horse Shoes Anyone?

Memories were made and good times had.

It was fun to share my favorite place with those I love!

Gardner Village w/ The Girls in the Family

Gardner Historic Village - peaceful, tranquil, beautiful!

When you put three generations of girls together, you get a boat load of fun!!! Audrey, Tina (43), Patti (39 + 1 ha ha), Amanda (18), Katelyn (17), Kelly (15) and McKenzie (8) spent the day touring Gardner Village. We were shopping, enjoying treats, taking pictures, having lunch at Archibalds and generally having fun. This is what it looked like:

Amanda's Graduation

After many years of hard work and endless hours of study... Amanda has graduated High School with her Associates degree as well. We are so proud of her! She has even done so with honors (which is why she wears the beautiful gold cords). Patti could not have asked for a better birthday present than that - for it all occurred on June 4th!
Her Grandmother, Aunt Tina and cousins, Katelyn & Kelly came from Durango, Colorado to help celebrate the joyful occasion. Amanda's boyfriend, Chris also joined in on the celebration of Amanda's success.

We all went to Johnny Carino's to eat, drink and be merry! We are so proud of her!!!!
